Edit: I am now in the process of joining an organization. I will leave my original message below for reference. Thank you to everyone who replied and I look forward to seeing you all in the 'verse! Howdy, I backed Star Citizen way back in November 2012. A Freelancer LTI package was my first pledge but since then, apart from dipping my toes a little when the PU first launched and reading the occasional newsletter, I've not really followed Star Citizen's development all that much nor have I played the game until recently. My reasons for this were mostly because of the state of the game, I didn't want to invest a great deal of time into a game that was so early in development, I also could barely get it to run on my old set-up. So, what's changed? I upgraded my PC a couple of months ago and then started reading the SC sub shortly after. I happened across a post of someones experience upon visiting Jump Town for the first time and from that moment on I was hooked and knew that I had to re-download the game so I did. I haven't played much, instead I opted to wait for the flight rework with 3.5 but I know that I want to be a combat pilot and so have gone ahead and invested in a dual T16000M set-up in anticipation of the new flight model. Now the time has come for me to find an org. I'm looking for a PVP focused group that's active in the game right now. Because of my complete lack of experience I'm also looking for a patient group of players who can hopefully show me the ropes but bear with me while I learn the intricacies of the game. I have no doubt whatsoever that it's going to take hundreds of hours for me to become a competent PVP pilot and that there are already players far more advanced than I'll likely ever be, but as a former EVE Online player and someone who gets invested in the games that I play I'm not perturbed by that notion at all, on the contrary I'm looking forward to the challenge. Below is a bullet pointed list of what I'm looking for in an org: PVP oriented and are active right now/plan to be active when 3.5 drops. I'm not fussy about the type of PVP - Piracy, Bounty Hunting (once it's in), security etc. Patient and willing to accept that I will make mistakes by the boatload at first, whilst I've watched some videos and such on the game and despite being a long-term backer you should very much consider me a noob at SC but I want to learn and am open to constructive criticism Likeminded individuals - I'm a mature father of a young baby girl and am really looking for people in my own age range (30's). Being a father also means that there are times I may have to step away for a while, or that I may be unable to play for a few days. My ideal org will understand that real life comes first (although I'll obviously do my best to not step away during critical ops) Voice comms are a must for me, I'm a social guy Preferably not a larger org. Whilst I'm not too fussy on this aspect, I'd prefer not to be just another name on a roster. As a former EVE player I've played in larger Corps/Alliances but also smaller, tight-knit groups and always had more fun in smaller roaming gangs Mostly interested in a SC org only. Whilst I don't mind jumping in other games from time to time I do have gaming friends that I play other games with already and so I'd rather not join a 'multi-gaming' group. I'm looking to find some people to play SC with and if that eventually ends up with me dynamically playing other games with you because I enjoy your company so much then that's great, but I don't want to feel obligated to do so What I can offer in return: A committed and loyal player who is looking to forge long-term relationships. I'm not a clan-hopper, I'm interested in meeting people that I will hopefully be playing Star Citizen (and perhaps other games) with for many years to come I'll be bringing my own ships to the table. I don't have a large 'fleet' by any stretch, and nothing bigger than a Freelancer but I still have a few fighters and combat ships with LTI. I'm definitely not a freeloader but I'm also quite happy to crew someone else's ship as well A competitive nature. Whilst I may be new to SC now, I do mean it when I say I plan to invest a lot of hours into ensuring I 'get good' at this game. I play a lot of PVP focused games and whilst I may be slowing down a little bit these days, my competitive nature certainly hasn't waned Active player - I'm from the UK so EU times will be my most active but I have a lot of American friends and definitely wouldn't mind joining a US or International org. I plan to be playing a lot of this game once 3.5 drops. That's about it. I apologise for the long-winded post but I think it's important to be thorough considering I'm looking for a group that I'll hopefully be playing with for a long time to come. If you think I'd be a good fit then drop me a PM or reply here :slightly_smiling_face: Cheers!
