I use to have a huge wall of text on my old ORG recruitment thread. Screw that. Here's the gist. We're a technology cult, we focus in nothing and aim to be self sufficient. We're run by our members, for our members. No skimming off the top to make the officer rank rich. We're not UEE supporters, nor are we pirates, we'll do our own thing and ride the grey line, as long as it turns a profit. Each member is free to do what they want, as long as they don't go too far one way or the other, unless it's profitable. We want our members to become successful, rich and have fun along the way. We don't tolerate drama, we're too old for that nonsense. We are roleplayer friendly, but hardly anyone in the org is a roleplayer. But that does mean we expect members to respect roleplay if it's happening, either take part of leave the area. No disrupting others fun.. Interested in joining? https://robertsspaceindustries.com/orgs/PAGAN Alternatively feel free to contact an existing member, we're more than happy to chat. Our Discord server address is: https://discord.gg/J98WKEk Can I be a pirate in PAGAN? We're not a pirate organisation, although we don't prevent members from pirating we'd rather it wasn't your main source of income, if you wished to primarily be a pirate we'd recommend you join our friends over at The Shadow Legion, but you'd be more than welcome to join PAGAN as an affiliate too. I'd want to be an officer We don't have officers as such, we have the Conclave. Members of it continually assess potential candidates, all you need to do is participate and make it known to the conclave that you'd be willing to step up to the role if requested. Promotions aren't granted unless someone has the confidence to step forward from the crowd, as the rank carries greater responsibility as well as real influence over the running of the organisation. Our "officers" wield the power within the organisation, they are the top rank. What is the Conclave? The Conclave are our "officers" but unlike many organisations they make 99% of the decisions, they promote mantle members to the conclave and also promote conclave members to the core group. Essentially they are in control and have a duty to ensure the organisation is a fluid, flexible and effective team. What do the "Core Group" do? The core group are members of the conclave with additional responsibility for overseeing the operation of the organisation and it's assets, they are tasked with ensuring the Conclave operates properly, that gaps in responsibility are plugged and will act as a sanity check against Conclave decisions which may ultimately destroy the organisation i.e. The decision to declare war. They guide, they do no order. The Core Group members are nominated from and prompted from the Conclave. I want to merge my org into PAGAN, as leader do I get to join the Conclave? No, you'll be a normal member like everyone else as all of the new members you bring with you will have an equal opportunity for promotion should they nominate themselves and win over existing members. There's no favouritism in PAGAN, you have to earn respect of your fellow members. PS We won't merge into another organisation. We're here for the long haul. What about demoting Officers? This has already happened and will happen again. Officers must remain fairly active, they can step down or be removed at any time. It's not an insult, we're adults - it's purely about keeping the organisation working, real life is more important, but for the good of the many, it may require some changes now and then. This includes the Core group and indeed myself (Raumarik) If I felt I couldn't retain the respect of fellow members, or was too busy in real life once Star Citizen "goes live" I'd also step down or expect to be removed, at which point I'd pass on ownership of the organisation to the next in line. There are no exceptions, no favouritism, no cliques. For further info simply watch this video, it'll explain the three groups in the organisation: We're part of the org trading card scheme, here's the awesome card HardyHero made for us:
