Southern Cross Alliance [SCA] started with an offhand remark on a Reddit post which cascaded into a fun, vibrant community. The organisation quickly grew as Australians and New Zealanders flocked to the banner of the Southern Cross, growing 100 members in our first month as a listed Organisation. Now Several years in the growth continues, now the SCA listing boasts more than 650 members. Several thousand ships make up the fleet, but this isn’t a fleet consisting only of single seat fighters, rather the fleet numbers many capital ships including, flotillas of Javelin Destroyers and Idris frigates and plenty of Polaris corvettes as escorts to these behemoths of the spaceways. However, don't make the mistake of thinking we're just concerned with Pew-Pew. The fleet includes many other vessels including the entire Hull series of Cargo ships, the Orion mining craft, Carrack explorers and the MISC Endeavor series. So what does this mean? It means we will never be lacking in things to do. Since 2945 the SCA have hosted the annual Crux Cup, a community run racing event and the home of the AURORA Classic. We introduced the Crux Cup as a way of commemorating the anniversary of the ANZAC landings at Suvla Bay in the Dardanelles. We hope their sacrifice would be remembered 1000 years into the future and this racing event ensures it. While the Crux Cup is no longer held over the ANZAC day weekend in April we still remember their sacrifice.
