Welcome to BSI! And welcome to our new organization thread! We are Black Star Initiative, an international PMC-type Organization focused on security and military-related roles in the Star Citizen Universe. We pride ourselves in an active Discord community, a dedicated Officer team and an all-voluntary approach to Organisation activities, where every member decides how and when to commit rather than being restricted to a mandatory playtime or fixed appointments. Our goals in Star Citizen revolve around building up and utilising a strong fighting force that can be deployed at any time and for any mission, but we don't pursue combat to the exclusion of everything else. Any credible fleet at the level we aim for has to consider logistics, reconnaissance, diplomatic and customer relations as well as infrastructure and deployment. Unlike most Organisations of our size, we maintain a strong focus on this field of game-play, rather than splitting our attention with dedicated trade or mining wings. However, that isn't binding for our members – we don't own you, and you can do whatever you want, as long as you respect our rules and don't give us a bad reputation. The resources of our Organisations and the efforts of our Officer team will be directed at maintaining our official operations, outposts, fleet, both ships on loan from members and org-owned craft. Our activities will generally revolve around fulfilling player contracts and doing NPC missions of any level, as well as dedicated training sessions and "Organisation interest" operations. Such operations could be exploring an area where we plan to be active, salvaging a newly discovered capital ship for our fleet or participating in game events, such as repelling Vanduul incursions. We are friendly towards roleplaying and encourage our members to RP, but it isn't mandatory. We also run roleplay events when the game is further along in development. At this point of development, we have weekly ‘Fly-Togethers’ on Saturdays, discussions about control set-ups and gameplay across the whole week and occasionally in-person get-togethers like Gamescom in Germany and a visit to Frankfurt Foundry 42 to name a few, and more to be organized across the globe. We're also currently planning a few smaller tournaments to pass the time until 3.0 is released. When not engaging in operations later, Organisation members are, as mentioned, free to strike out on their own and can still count on having backup if they need it. You can also self-organise for whatever pursuits you fancy, such as racing, exploration or role-playing of any stripe, as long as they are within legal bounds. That is the only firm rule once you're already a member – besides general decency, but that is self-understood – no piracy, no griefing, no illegal activities of any kind, because that is the sort of thing we shut down to earn our money.
