What is Watchdog Coalition? Firstly, we are a social organization. We're all close friends, that want to play games together, with the pinnacle being an organization in Star Citizen. Secondly, we're a contract organization. Our plans, currently, are to build up a reputation among all citizens as being trustworthy crew members, skilled pilots, and experienced gunners. In real life, a majority of the current membership and leadership is active duty / retired military and police. We believe in organization, and more importantly, we believe in a mature off-time environment. We've created a discord to organize our current gaming, as well as future Star Citizen plans, and have emboldened an environment for positive gaming. A majority of us are also married and/or have kids. We understand you won't be available for all (or even most) of the org events. We'll work with you to make sure you're getting the most out of your game time. We're a mostly North American organization, with members in EST, all the way out to Guam. On the note of organization, we've created 5 branches to allow for better squad play, organize teams during org-wide events, and to give members a sense of ownership and stock into the organization. This leads to my next question. _________________________________________________________________________ What are the branches / sections of WDC, and will I get pigeonholed into one branch? You will not get pigeonholed into a role you do not like. These roles are simply to keep things organized during org-wide events. At no point will you ever be forced into these roles during your own time. If you prefer mining during your off-time and during org-wide events, that Resources may be for you, however, if you prefer to jump in the pilots seat, and shoot down enemies while doing org events, fleet command may be best. It all depends on what you want to do, and our job isn't to tell you how to play during your off-time. The roles are: Legion Division: Our face-to-face combatants. These are our bounty hunters, planet side defense and offense, ship boarding members, etc. They knock down doors, or keep them from getting knocked down. Armada Division: As the name suggests, these members feel most comfortable in a captains chair, or behind a throttle and stick. They're in charge of our space combat and defense, exploration, air to land combat, and most importantly, these members run the capital ships we gain in the future. Logistics Division: Money, money, money. These members relish at the thought of a good trade run, or riches struck in a lone asteroid. They are in charge of mining, trading, salvage, and production. Support Division [R3 - Recovery, Repair, Recon]: These members sit in the back-lines, but their job isn't any less stressful. They're in charge of rendering medical aid, repairs, emergency response, and search and rescue missions. Delta Dogs: [REDACTED] _________________________________________________________________________ How do I know if WDC is for me? Are you interested in a tight knit group, who have big plans for Star Citizen's release? Are you looking to take charge of your own squad, or your own branch, and pave the way for future Watchdogs? Does the idea of a tight knit family taking to the stars, exploring the cosmos, and getting into shenanigans along the way excite you? WDC may be for you. _________________________________________________________________________ How do I know if WDC isn't for me? WDC takes our membership seriously. We want to make sure everyone feels comfortable in the discord, in the chat channels, etc. As such, expect mature conversations, as I said previously, a majority of us are military and police, and as such, tend to have less filter than the average human. On that note, however, the one thing we do not allow is our members believing that racial slurs / sexist slurs are commonplace in chat. Our ranks are full of people from all different cultures, backgrounds and ethnicities, if you cannot respect those boundaries, we don't have a place for you. As far as in game, the only thing we prefer not to get involved in is piracy. If you do enjoy piracy, we may have a spot for you, however, this will be done very sparingly as our reputation as a contract organization is important for the continued operation of the org. _________________________________________________________________________ How do I join? You can join us by responding to this forum post, or, if you have any other questions you can send me a message on Spectrum (I usually check it 1-2 times a day). Or if you want to skip all the middle-man and jump straight into some Watchdog action, check out our website below. https://robertsspaceindustries.com/orgs/WATCHDOG _________________________________________________________________________ Thanks for your time in reading this, and I can't wait to see you all in the 'verse! One final disclaimer: If you're another org leader / officer reading this, and you're thinking to yourself "Boy, I bet these guys would love to do a merger with us, because they have the same ideals we do" please, save us both the time, and don't bother. I've seriously denied at least 15 other org leaders because they wanted us to merge with them. This org is ran almost entirely by real life friends. We have a very sturdy foundation and I don't plan on surrendering that over to another org leader who I don't know, simply because "we're similiar". So, thank you for the consideration, but no thank you. If you're interested in contracting us out upon launch or even in alpha, send me a message on spectrum and let me know, but our plans right now are to maintain our course and speed.
