Hey. Thank you for taking the time to read the thread. Firstly - praise has to go to the games customer services team, no quibble no arguements, jsut a refund confirmed within minutes of requesting it. Good job guys. So why did I quit ? The game has some real promise and I can live with the occasional crash, the mechanics are solid - graphically its stunning. The ship I had was a joy to fly. Plenty of things to actually do in game - at least as a new player, so why quit you say ? The community. I understand that maybe for veterans with 100s of hours of play it breaks up the bordom to go be a pirate and ruin someone elses fun. But its not. Its just an excuse for awful behaviour. The PvP mechanic in open world game play is what will keep players like me from joining or playing in future; and thats a shame, becuase from a game survival view point, it needs "nice" people to welcome players and generally help create a space and community that people will look forward to joining after a day at work or whatever. I was called a p-word becuase I refused to give my location during a chat (to avoid the pvp griefing). I understand that the longer the community plays in the game the more they need factions and rivalry to keep them engaged but there is a massive slice of players like me out there who jsut wanted to fly a spaceship with some friends, go do some mining together, hunt down some missing people and honestly just generally enjoy some good times and laughs - not constantly dealing with the threat of someone who spent more real world cash than me on a bigger ship and whose enjoyment of the game is based on ruining someone elses fun. How do you fix it ? A simple toggle - pvp on or off. If/when that ever gets introduced to the game I'll be back to enjoy what is a stunning verse full of satisfying gameplay. Thanks fo reading folks. I hope your game experience is more plesant than mine.
