The Star Citizen community is great. Helpful, polite, intelligent, mature. But there does seem to be some polarised opinions when it comes to certain aspects of this game (and others). I thought I'd point out, that while discussion is healthy, while conversation can be constructive. Trying to debate people and their point, while ignoring the sentiment of their post, to substitute your own, is hardly a worthwhile endevour. I've noticed that some people do not read a post, and take time to digest it. Instead they engender the post giver, to speak emotionally from their own postion, which usually creates an obscure off shoot of a point, trying to out debate someone, rather than engage in conversation. Where I accept people will not see eye to eye, I feel it's a shame at the current state of play. People should show they understand what's being said, and not just raise arbitrary and abstract points they feel deny the poster any authority to have an opinion. In my opinion, it's a cowardly way of attacking someone and trying to deal with ideas you don't like. Ignore the substance, and distract with your own points, no matter how tenuous they might be. It would be nice, in my opinion, if people gave a bit more thought to their replys, since so many are concerned with how they are replyed to. I wish I was the perfect example of how to behave and write intelligent posts, but I'm not. I express my opinions and thoughts, from my position and disposition... Do other people think some conduct and attitudes are less than civil, hiding beihind the pretence of reasonablity? Or am I imagining things? (Not trying to be hyperbolic, but at a certain point. I don't see why some attitudes are condoned, and prevalent) Edit - I'd also like to add, that just because I did something, dosen't justify someone else acting poorly. At the end of the day, I feel I'm fairly reasonable. Telling me nonsense, and trying to be an argument, agrivation, and obtuse... is apparently second place, to freedom of expression, and being treated with any dignaty or respect? People have started throwing the word hypocrite around. I might want to start throwing the term "self respect" about. Maybe some people should look up what the term actually means. (But i really need to stop bickering with people)
