This is about gambling in the verse and why it might not be legally possible. This is a general conversation not an off topic conversation. Another Loot Box controversy has surfaced yet again. This time, it centers around Belgium's Gaming Commission declaring the random microtransaction as a form of gambling and is looking to ban loot boxes in Europe. https://thegeeksnitch.com/video-games/belgium-looking-to-ban-loot-boxes-considers-them-to-be-gambling/ The administrative body ruled that randomized loot boxes/crates constitute "the mixing of money and addiction" and are therefore a form of gambling which is similar to the games of chance found in casinos. I do not support loot boxes or any kind of randomized purchase. This is more about showing that having to deal with international law regarding gambling means having to deal with stricter and stricter laws. Because UEC can be purchased with real money this means any game of chance, such as a poker mini game, in the game is considered the same as if your actually gambling. It does not matter if you can pull money out of the game. All that matters is that you can put real money directly into the game for games of chance in the game to legally be considered gambling.
