The Nooblonian agenda part 1: Enabling streamers, protecting players, and monetizing Star Citizen by PVE servers https://robertsspaceindustries.com/spectrum/community/SC/forum/3/thread/enabling-streamers-protecting-players-and-monetizi/4949126 The Nooblonian agenda part 2: CIG needs to recognize Streamers have different limits and needs https://robertsspaceindustries.com/spectrum/community/SC/forum/3/thread/cig-needs-to-recognize-streamers-have-different-li/4962731 The Nooblonian agenda part 3: Now we are starting to move into the Nooblonian agenda. Not yet though, we are still building up necessary background info. The previous posts was just stating reality, with exception of CIG charging for PVE servers (because I am a dick and that is funny to me). Another dick thing CIG could do is for those “professional mod tools” of the 3 mill stretch goal just send a link to Amazon Lumberyard. That would be hilarious, but not sure CIG could get away with that. People are also just jealous of streamers. Yeah I want free money too but I don’t plan on putting in the work. CIG has already worked with streamers but I do not think CIG has used them to the fullest extent. Or at the very least they could do a better job of them working with the community as a whole, not too many are happy with how CIG used streamers in the past (personally think of 3 examples poorly received but obviously financially successful). So… CIG should look into getting Hololive and their Vtubers to start featuring Star Citizen gameplay. https://en.hololive.tv/ Hololive is basically an idol management company. They field and promote characters, not sure all the background stuff but it seems to be similar to musical groups and creating stars. Meaning that if CIG wanted to use Hololive they would just contact the company and that would provide access to 20+ characters under their management. Should be easy to negotiate with Hololive rather than any separate entities or to make sure certain things are enforced. NDAs are a big thing to Hololive and I hate to say it but one character got removed due to that, emphasis being all the other characters know certain things are not to be shared under penalty of dismissal. One of the characters are so popular they even made it into a Taco Bell commercial. Gwar Gura (Vtuber) is in the background of the anime Taco Bell ad, billboard in one scene. They are getting past the point of having mainstream appeal and becoming cultural icons. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=chF--9MmBk8 Another event that I think Hololive spawned was the ‘feet meta’ for Vtubers a while back. Pretty sure Amelia Watson (Vtuber) started that, and well…. Feet fetish people enjoyed it so much I saw Project Melody (Vtuber - not Hololive) doing/talking about it. Granted it seemed to fizzle out but Hololive being something that created a meta followed by other Vtubers is impressive (pretty sure it was Amelia that started it but I could be wrong). Hololive itself is trying to expand to include different regions and several of the members speak multiple languages. Besides Japanese and English they either are or have recently targeted India. Additional languages some members speak are German and Korean. Trying to get a global advertising partner for Star Citizen seems pretty easy: just make sure there is interesting stuff to stream for their members (and general permissions) or flat out use them as a marketing agency. Their interoperation with each other (collabs) keeps bringing separate member’s following and language areas together (Japan does stuff with English Hololive often). Hololive can be seiso. It means a bit more in Japanese but ultimately ‘pure’ and ‘family friendly’ would be decent translations. One of Gura’s streams involved chat insulting her breast size and you see her wanting to insult but apparently her manager shouted her down off screen. The conclusion of that moment was Gura mumbling under her breath “Thanks for your super chat” with no insults and changing the subject. But… not all of the members are that acceptable in public. One of them has the catch phrase of ‘I’m horny’ and is pretty lewd a lot of the time. Pretty sure the characters would either follow any rules made or opt out if issues arose. If presenting a good public image was a concern Hololive can do that. There is a crap load of members but pretty sure their English total is over 10 mil subs on YouTube. Gura alone has 3.8 mil. Calliope Mori (vtubber) has 2 mil. Best Doggo Korone (vtubber) has 1.7 mil and she is just Japanese (smaller market). Think there is 22 characters at the moment. No telling what the India focus ones will pull. Hololive En has been pretty adaptable and willing to evolve and incorporate the character’s quirks into their universe. Gura’s trident was based on Minecraft if I recall correctly. Sure it meshed well with her lore but I don’t think it existed until after her ingame focus on it. So actions ingame have resulting in permanent changes to the characters. Amelia has her own evil version known as Smol Ame, who was a mascot at their Hololive Expo in Japan and stole the show. The characters do grow and the agency supports them, when it fits. One of the things that can work in reverse is a lot of their outfits. CIG has to limit the fashion choices to what is practical, people pitched a fit over the 5 Nights at Freddy’s things because they were lore breaking or something. Hololive are always changing their outfits so there are going to be constant new versions. Nearly all are female but there was at least a moment they made male versions. If CIG asked pretty sure Hololive could make something for men, and CIG would be able to sell them ingame as promotional items. Like the Mustang Racer… forgot the thing it came with. Give more interesting leisure wear in the universe with a great excuse to be more exotic with options. Having ship schemes seems boring and a waste of potential. Seeing as Hololive are Vtubers they use motion capture for their face animations. Not sure how compatible that is with Star Citizen’s FOIP but I would imagine there being some shared skills or habits. Maybe they could get away with their own characters ingame without needing too much extra effort. The upper limits are hard to anticipate but the minimum requirements for the vtubbers should be easily met. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dQw4w9WgXcQ
