Humans can be so self-centered that we call galaxies with a lot less going on than in the Milky Way, with stars that live a very long and stable life and emit a nice, calm, yellowy glow, "dead". So even on a galactic scale we consider our own one the norm, desirable, average and pass harsh judgment on what deviates too much. That's quite mental. And telling. I could even say that, naturally, beings living in a teenager galaxy would see things this way. ... Then again, maybe it is just us who are teenagers. But the relationship is worth pondering and could lead to mindblowing insights.
