Honestly, these posts doing the rounds on the risk of 'simple' game mechanics ruining the game... Threads in this form are constantly awash with people advising someone to get skillz and get tough, or otherwise play Nintendo. You understand that this has far more to do with your own interests and desires than those of the post/issue you are responding to, right? I don't have a competitive gene in my body. I don't feel the need to compete and prove myself. Not in real life, not in an online game. I don't need to gank anyone to feel good about myself. I don't feel the need to flex in an online forum. And, I don't need a game mechanic to be highly complex to feel satisfied. For a player with my interests and desires, complex vs. simple game play should be optional as much as possible. You wanna feel good about your flying skillz, land manually. If not, use auto land. You wanna feel good about how much ore you can squeeze out of a rock, mine manually. If not, use auto mine. You wanna feel good about winning a dog fight, stay in Arena Commander! If you support fidelity for the SC verse, accept that murder and theft should be punished as severely as possible. And, stop blaming other people for lacking skillz or toughness. Only you deem them crucial because you are obsessed with being best! Buddy, it's ok. You are awesome. No need for demonstrations. Not everyone has the same need to prove themselves all the time. I log in to hang out and relax in a fictional universe. Not to prove myself. Here's hoping CIG can accommodate me and others like me.
