With the pace of AI, and recently creating entire worlds that you can walk around from prompts, the concept of gaming and immersion will have changed so dramatically, what we play now will fall into it's own 'legacy' gaming criteria. That's all good, there are categories that people still enjoy, old games, old console games etc... My point is, when this game does release, it will need ongoing funding, and if the numbers aren't there because people have moved into more immersive gaming worlds, this game may well just fade away before it's even out. And if people want to challenge how far away this conceptual change may be, remember, Genie 3 at the end of 2024 was simply pushing out 256x256 resolution side scrollers. Today, it's pushing out at 720p and entire virtual worlds at 24fps. At this rate, I'm going to end up creating my own vision of a space world to explore before SC does something meaningful in terms of an actual fully playable release.
