Last year I decided to learn to sail with the intent of becoming certified as a captain, for safety reasons, and getting a boat. I did this because I spent so much time playing Star Citizen doing "captainy" things that I figured it would vibe for me in real life. Well, I got my seal for my Bareboat Cruising Cert. which allows me to captain a charter boat solo today. Now I am looking to buy an aluminum monohull cruiser with a <5ft draft allowing me to live aboard so I do the Great Loop and eventually Northwest Passage. Then once I have 365 days on the water I can go for my 6Pac Commercial Captain Certification. Thanks Chris for inspiring my old ass to go better myself.
