I'm going to preface this by remind you that I am unkind and spiteful. I'm also a veteran who served during a time where describing how you can get hurt doing something stupid saved lives by making it abundantly clear that we're not just barking at you to bark. I am not a display piece, I am a leader with head problems. But I (unfortunately) care. I read in the "known issues" that the boomtube is misaligned when aiming and firing in the prone. I'd have never known this because it would never occur to me to fire a RPG, rocket, missile, or other rapid propelling weapon with the backblast aimed at my legs. That got me thinking: Perhaps since the community loves demanding that casual players suffer during casual gameplay, why not implement something that causes player suffering. Backblast. In the army of old times, enemy tanks and armor was a big deal. As we modernized, there became more ways to kill tanks than there were for tanks to kill anything else. One of those methods was the rocket propelled grenade as well as the disposable rocket tube. The Rocket Propelled Grenade launchers were like what the boomtube struggles to be today in 2956. The Boomtube has three hand grenades rigged on an impact detonation fuse at the end of a rod that is launched by a rapidly expanding rocket charge. The RPG's of old had two and a half grenades worth of explosive charge in one warhead, with a copper layer that melted and cut its way through the armor to facilitate in pushing the force of the charge through the tank you were shooting. Be it the disposable rocket tubes or the reloadable RPG launchers, one of the biggest dangers was the backblast. The backblast was when the really hot gas forced backwards in the opposite direction as it launched the warhead or payload forward at a target. There was a narrow cone of area directly behind the shooter that could burn someone to death or just throw them really hard into something that they died from when they hit something. Or, if they didn't die they had really bad injuries. This required the practice of yelling "backblast area clear" and someone with the shooter checking and telling them "backblast clear" (one is a question without a question mark ["?"] and one was giving permission to shoot). We currently have the Animus Missile system and the Boomtube. Both of these launch in ways that generate backblast. Because of this, if you were prone with it, you had to have your body and legs at least 45 degrees off.
