So what actually happens if I fart in a space suit? Is it scented, filtered, or am I just marinating in my own gases? And how are those gases even released or filtered? I started thinking about this because SC suits don’t show any of the systems real suits need. Which means, technically, we’ve all been slowly dying off their own nitrogen, oxygen, carbon dioxide, hydrogen, methane the whole bacterial fermentation cocktail just building up around us. Some people call this the classic “don’t get high on your own supply” or “don’t dip into your own supply.” kind of motto. Every suit in this game basically screams, “Congratulations, you’re suffocating in your own supply.” It’s funny, sure, but once you look past the joke you start asking. Where’s the filtration? Where do we refill the O₂ tanks? And then it hits me again, if we’re out in space, sealed in a suit, and we get hurt or shot, we’re literally stabbing medical pens straight through the suit. We’re punching holes in our own life support system just to fix our HP. At that point I’m sitting here thinking, wow, how did I miss this and all of it spiraled from the original thought of farting in your own suit.
