It looks like Metacritic recently opened up the Star Citizen page for user reviews, the first being back in February of this year. Allowing user reviews for early access products is common for the review aggregator site. While it's still in alpha development, Chris said Alpha 3.0 was akin to early access launch in his Autumn 2017 Eurogamer interview: https://www.eurogamer.net/star-citizen-would-be-the-worst-scam-in-the-world For whatever reason, Metacritic chose not to open its SC page for user reviews at that time. The only gaming press outlet to review SC after its early access launch was Eurogamer again, as a follow-up to their previous interview: https://www.eurogamer.net/star-citizen-alpha-3-impressions Meanwhile, for the past couple of years CIG have marketed Star Citizen as "Playable Now", publishing flashy trailers and detailed press releases for each quarterly update, and having regular in-game events like other live-service games. I think this is what led Metacritic to open up the SC page's access. Unfortunately, most of the reviews are of the extreme opinions, either "10/10 verygud" or "0/10 terribad", although some do give useful information on the reviewers' experiences while playing, positive or negative.
