Copy paste from my Facebook page: Star Trek Discovery, my thoughts: I have no problem with strong women, there are several in my life. I have absolutely no problems with the characters or the acting (except for Sarek, he was kind of weak) I do have a real problem with the writing. The story so far is ridiculous. They have transporters but cannot beam down directly to the well that they fix in 2 seconds with a phaser shot down a hole. Then they can't beam out because their communicators can't reach the ship due to interference, but the damn ship can pick up their footprints in the sand through the same damn storm clouds? why? Because it formed a pattern of the Federation logo. WTF!? Oh, and then you have the homicidal first officer who kills the supposedly badass Klingon and then claims it as an accident Yeah, she jetted straight at him and jammed his weapon into his chest,by accident.. And THEN she leaves sickbay but she's going to die any moment because of it , but 5 minutes later she's totally cured. There's a science officer who is basically a pre-cognitive cow, (I'm actually tired of thinking WTF? at this point) Then this crazy bitch does a Vulcan nerve pinch on her own Capt. (did the Vulcans ever teach this technique to humans? never mind, it's a reboot) There are many other little things that bugged me that I just can't even get into they are so weird. Was that helmeted thing on the bridge with the wires attached to it's hands a human or was that some species we haven't seen before? Either way it was totally ripped off from The Last Starfighter. End copy and pastes here: "Number one" (who no one was ever called that before Picard) was a lunatic. She tries "to save you" by rendering her Capt. unconscious and then attacking an IMMENSELY larger craft for no other reason than she was attacked by one of them for TRESPASSING on a sacred object of theirs. The Klingons at this point have my sympathy if this is what they expect from those who claim "I come in Peace". And Sarek was a totally weak ass character compared to how he has been portrayed in the past.
