I want to start by acknowledging that there are likely users who: • Ask AI to generate a list of arguments for a given position • Without thoroughly researching the topic themselves • And without asking AI to present both pros and cons That said, it’s important to remember that the Star Citizen community is incredibly diverse, and includes people who: • Have English as their native language • Speak and understand English fluently • Barely understand more than a few sentences in English Because of this, it’s important that we as a community: • Welcome everyone • Avoid limiting people’s participation in discussions on Spectrum • Refrain from criticizing the use of AI for: ◦ Translation ◦ Language refinement ◦ Formatting posts This is one of the areas where AI is a fantastic tool—not only for translation and formatting, but also for simple fact-checking. As an example: • This very text was translated and reformatted by ChatGPT • From my original native language (Danish) into English • But I can guarantee that the content itself was written entirely by me Please keep this in mind the next time you feel the urge to criticize someone for openly using AI.
