I've got a few games I'm enjoying on a weekly basis. On the list are Diablo III, Sea of Thieves and Star Wars: The Old Republic. Question. Which of these are massive multiplayer online games and which of them aren't? In my estimation, the term MMO has lost all meaning and I think we need something stronger to replace it. The acronym used to be intended to explain a style of game but now it's closer to a point of advertising. If I tell you that there's a new massive multiplayer online game coming out it means something entirely different than if I tell you there's a new "MMO" coming out. I wrote up an article that took a stab at what needs to change. Take a look, let me know if you agree. https://reforgedgaming.org/2018/07/24/living-worlds-defining-death/
