The five stages of grief are as follows: Denial, Anger, Bargaining, Depression, and Acceptance. When you go through a traumatic event you will go through each one of these. Sometimes you'll bounce between several, and eventually you'll reach the last at which point you will have a choice, to stick around or move one. The interesting thing is that CIG is also "Ghosting" the community by not talking to them. If you have ever been ghosted by someone, you know that being ghosted leaves people without closure, than it does anything good as it allows one party to completely avoid the issues (thus they remain unresolved) and the other party to cling to them even though no resolution will be had. It creates a whole host of mental issues for those ghosted. Looking back over the last six months (and especially the last month), I noticed that the community as a whole has been ghosted. And I also noticed that people are going through the five stages of grief on a very milder note. But the effect is the same, I have come to the acceptance stage after being ghosted by CIG and having no resolution. And I realized that the only reason I'm sticking around is because of the friendships that I've made in the game. It has nothing to do with the game itself unfortunately. I've lost the desire to see SC or SQ42 finished, and I'vel ost the desire to see any part of this vision realized. Right now even the thought of having to log on is why I haven't been on in over a month. It's been a deterrent more than it has a fun experience And honestly, I don't know what will happen next. I'm at the crossroads where I've come to accept that CIG is ghosting us and that problems will remain until CIG stops and has candid conversations instead of just blaming us. What I do know though is that if this continues even the joy of seeing friends online in SC won't keep me around if that is the only thing I log on for. And as we've seen others leave the project, I'm not alone in that thinking. The scary part is that acceptance has turned into apathy as I now firmly believe that CIG doesn't care about the community. So I'll maybe see you guys in the verse, it's and hard to say honestly as I have better things to do now. My hope though is that things can change and CIG comes to the table and has discussions where we can work to fix the problems instead of just blaming each other.
