1. CO-OP is the best game mode in any game. Even the worst broken and bug-ridden game becomes fun the moment you can do a playthrough with a friend and laugh about the experience. A few years ago me and a friend played through "Star Trek Co-Op". It was a terrible game, yet it is one of the most memorable and fun play experiences I have ever had, and this is only because I played the game together with a friend. 2. It was promised in the Kickstarter. https://imgur.com/rxVbNNE 3. "Does it have Co-op mode?" This is the first question any of my friends ask when I tell them about a new game title. (CIG Would earn a lot of extra money, since having co-op in your game is an assured shortcut straight to the bank-account of a second SC player.) 4. CIGs argument for cutting the game mode from the game is flawed. (Matt Sherman argues that they are gonna have more compelling story choices, and therefore co-op is "too hard" and they don't "want" to do it.) Blaming "story choices" is a false premise because story choices does not matter. The benefit of experiencing the game together with a friend outweighs any potential loss of choices for the second player. You experience a campaign like being in a novel or movie. Choice is irrelevant, and if it is important for the game play, put a voting mechanic or let player 1 be the protagonist and driver of the story. Just keep it Simple. 5. CIG is wasting an opportunity to capitalize on their hard work. Hear me out here. The excuse used by most other game developers and rightfully so, is that multiplayer game code increases in difficulty and complexity with a factor of 10 the second that you introduce "multiplayer" functionality in any game code. And therein lies my point. CIG have already spent millions creating an amazing multiplayer architecture customized specifically for their game environment. The work that is being put into this endeavor is astounding. So why are they not planning to capitalize on it? Under utilizing their work and not pushing the games functionality to it's fullest potential would be nothing but a pure crime!
