I, and some others, have mentioned the problem of ergonomics with the rider position that has been designed for the Ranger series: https://robertsspaceindustries.com/spectrum/community/SC/forum/3/thread/feedback-on-trend-of-impractical-ground-vehicle-de/318193 . To quote the relevant part from that thread: Design teams have created a riding position that makes sense for racing, but is incredibly unergonomic and downright wrong for any other purpose. Leaning forward in the manner of MotoGP riders when covering long distances for cargo delivery with the CV - or maintaining weight balance so you can accurately use your trigger buttons in the combat variant - is something you would not want to do. Anyone who has done non-competitive riding on motorcycles or bicycles while leaning forward for long rides will be familiar with the neck and arm pain the pressure causes with time I originally intended to ask this question in a CAD/SCL show, but none have been announced in the years since that would be relevant, or where this question would be upvoted more than others. So I decided to ask this here following yesterday's General section thread by someone else who was asking about the status of the production of the Ranger. During early Ranger development, CIG had a 3D concept, with a different-looking bike model, with a sensible rider position that was leaning back. Compare the two: In my personal opinion, in this alternate concept, the bike itself looks way cooler as well, but let's skip that here. This seating position makes sense for both the CV and TR versions, while for the RC version it is only slightly less efficient in terms of weight transfer than the forward-leaning option. And there are RL examples of "cruiser" bikes, with riding positions closer to this than the forward-leaning stance, that are modified for performance. So I would like to ask the devs who have/will be working on the Ranger once it goes back into the pipeline, is there a chance that either a) the rider position for the current bike model will be changed, or b) the entire model of the vehicle will be changed to accommodate an ergonomically sensible rider position, before the motorcycle completes production? Is this still under consideration?
