The new elevator touchscreen elevator panels definitely look nicer than the earlier floating text, however I still think they're not as efficient as they could be. Particularly, writing out the entire word "floor" on each floor touch area necessitates the touch areas to be very long and take a lot of space, which typically makes scrolling necessary. If the "floor" is omitted, it should be possible to only write out the floor number, or in the case where there also are hangars, you can just use "F" or "H" and the corresponding number. Another version is to omit the "F" or "H" on each touch area and just group the floor and hangar (or refinery decks or whatever) touch areas by category under the heading of "Floors:", "Hangars:" and so on. I think either of these versions could create a faster, more streamlined elevator user experience by eliminating the scrolling without adding any significant drawbacks. I realize that every touch area technically would be smaller in area, but I don't think this makes it harder to hit the right one if the updated UI uses square (or perhaps circular) touch areas with the same length (side or diameter) as the smallest dimension of current rectangular touch areas. Now, this is obviously not the most urgent UI issue in the game, so don't take this as an attack on the current design. It's just an idea for the UI design team to perhaps consider in the future. A rudimentary sketch of the idea is attached: Another, perhaps more effective way to demonstrate the area efficiency of more square-shaped buttons:
