First, this patch introduced Contested Zones, which bring organizations together to compete for rare loot. The ultimate goal is to gather enough key cards to access the Executive Hangar, where players can claim a new ship with A-tier components and weapons. I like the concept, but the reward system is flawed. The design encourages organizations to push through all the contested zones scattered around Pyro, which takes approximately five hours to accomplish as a group, not to mention the bugs encountered along the way. Once the effort is completed, your organization travels to the Executive Hangar to claim just ONE SHIP. Only one person from the group receives that reward, meaning you’ll need to repeat the entire process for every member of your organization who wants good components on their ships. Additionally, you'll have to go through it multiple times to gather components for all the ships you want outfitted. Recently, CIG implemented a hotfix stating that when you repair a ship with destroyed or damaged components, those components will be replaced with stock ones. Was this intended? It seems like a significant waste of time, especially since we don’t have insurance tiers in the game yet. Why bother engaging in contested zones if we can simply lose our components and weapons due to a random bug? Just ten minutes ago, my ship was "destroyed" inside my hangar for no apparent reason; it suddenly turned purple and despawned while I was climbing into the pilot seat. I urge CIG not to make the game more tedious without the supporting systems in place that would make these changes logical.
