I'm wondering what the plan is for vehicle replacement when conducting operations in hostile territory? I'm picturing a scenario where a group of about 20 people, be it org, pickup crew, or some kind of mission team, are going a system or two away to conduct a raid of some sort. For the sake of discussion let's say having to go into a UGF and rescue a VIP. The group brings some fighters, an M2 with tanks or centurion, a medical ship, and something that let's people respawn. This let's them fight in, land, drive to the UGF, fight, respawn as people die, etc. What it doesn't do though is provide something in case the fighters or the ground vehicles get blown up. The players can repsawn but what is the plan for replacing the vehicles? Losing a vehicle or two could scrap the entire op costing significant amounts of time and likely will lead to people logging off rather than making a second attempt. Most MMOs have some method of quickly recovering from a bad situation. SC is so heavily dependent on vehicles that simply having clone respawn won't be enough of a recovery system. Will there be a ship that allows some form of vehicle respawn or will we see some kind of ship class that is capable of hauling multiple replacement ships? Some might say the Liberator can do that but from what I've seen it can only carry two ground vehicles and a few small ships. Groups are going to need alot more replacement vehicles than that and if the Lib is the answer then why even bring along a dropship. I was hoping we could get clarification of what is planned. The example provided is about the smallest scale op I can think of and they'll just get bigger from there. The more people involved the more critical having replacement vehicles will become.
