I have been testing ships medium and above and I think the force reactions is overboard, speaking conservatively. At regular SCM you fall to your stomach/butt at least once every 3 seconds. I understand there is a realism goal to this game, but it will effect functionality as a whole of multiple professions. Please let me explain the examples I have tested in game: Engineering: From medium to large fixing a component is impossible. Multiple tests showed that with force reactions the ship was destroyed before the component could be reached. And standing next to the component the player fell to the ground multiple times, hindering any functional repair. I know you might say... slow down... this is not a reality in this game when the engineering career is needed. Most of the situations where this career is required will be during combat. This requires evasive maneuvers and speed to retreat. In it's current state even at regular SCM (not going into the red) moving about a ship is impossible and would make this career not possible. Even if you had a dedicated engineering officer that stayed in engineering you still can't stay on your feet during repair. Medical: Medical teams are required to respond to different locations in the ship due to ship wide injuries. Ex: engineering officer gets stuck in fire and needs a medic to get back to work. With its current state Medical officers can not respond in the timeframe of the downed state. And like above, will not be able to heal without being knocked off your feet. Player transport: I would say that this does not matter because you could have your passengers sit during combat however in it's current state, even at normal SCM your passengers will fall to the ground while trying to get to the bar on anything 600i and below. What am I asking? Take the feature out? No way, it is an amazing immersive feature. What I am asking is make it tied to an actual impact. Such as being struck by another ship or object, or torpedo strikes. But lore? How do we fix that? If you want explanations on why you do not fall it can be easily explained by the gravity and life support components on the ship. This is another option for gameplay... if the life support systems fail, so does the ability to stay on your feet. To all that read this, if you have videos regarding what I speak about please add them for context, I unfortunately have not recorded my tests.. because I didn't think I was going to write this, but it's needed. I will try to actually add videos later if this doesn't get ignored. lastly..... If rule of cool can apply in this game then rule of function can too? Thanks for your time. ******** EDIT So I did some testing in 3.16 with a few friends, it looks like it has improved, the only issue left is during acceleration/deceleration. I will post videos soon from our play day, so it's better, but if this is a bug maybe it can get fixed, or adjusted. In 3.17 they modified it! So far so good, you go into the "surfing motion" but no falls... THANK YOU CIG :slightly_smiling_face:
