So currently in game you can chat by pressing enter. To go to a party chat you have to press tab, to go to the ship chat you have to press tab. To go back to the party chat you have to press tab tab tab tab tab tab ... there are a bunch of direct comm channels that you have to cycle through. Not to mention the current system forgets what channel you were using just before, I cant tell you the number of times I thought I was typing in party chat only to have something go out over global comms. The system below would eliminate this. I would LOVE it if we could adopt a system like world of warcraft has. For example. /1 would be for global comms /2 would be for local comms /3 reserved for a custom created chat channel /4 reserved for a custom created chat channel /p for party chat /o for org chat /s for ship chat. /w for whisper - or private tell to a single player AKA a direct comm This system worked great in world of warcraft, being that we are heading to a MMO style game i feel like this would make a massive quality of life upgrade that would at least in my brain not be that hard to implement. For those that never played WOW this is how you would enter a chat. Press "enter/return" on the keyboard. Type the leading channel identifier. So for global you would do "/1 Hello world" the game would then remember what the last slash command was and each time after you press return it brings you back to the correct slash channel.
