I see how hard you guys are working to get insurance implemented in a way that feels fair while also stopping as much duping as possible, and that is super awesome and appreciated... That said, with the new 4.8 insurance and bricking changes, I think there are some important gameplay questions worth asking: A. Does this mean piracy and recovery gameplay are temporarily or permanently being kneecapped? If I disable, board, steal, or salvage another player’s ship, but the original owner claims it and the components/ship eventually brick, what is the intended reward path for me? B. Are bricked components planned to have value later? Could they be turned in through missions, stripped for materials, repaired through crafting, or sold to shady dealers instead of becoming dead trash? C. Is there a distinction planned between “duped” items and “legitimately stolen” items? Because from a gameplay perspective, I would love to recover my items and components... you know... take back what is mine... D. Will there eventually be a way to “launder” or re-register stolen components? For example, through criminal contacts, black-market shops, engineering gameplay, repair shops, or crafting materials. E. What happens to salvage gameplay when a claimed ship bricks? If a ship is abandoned in space, can a Reclaimer or Vulture still scrape/munch it after the owner claims it, or does the system make that hull worthless too? F. If bricked ships/components become mission objects.. how can we keep dupers from exploiting it.. This seems like a perfect chance for insurance companies, salvage yards, bounty offices, or criminal factions to issue recovery/destruction/scrap contracts. G. Is the current 4.8 bricking behavior just a temporary anti-dupe measure? If so, can we get clarity on what the intended end-state is so players don’t assume piracy and component theft are being designed out of the game? H Will stolen components ever be insurable by the thief? If I take a component, repair it, modify it, and install it on my own ship, does it ever become “mine,” or will it always be tied to the original owner’s claim state? I. How does this system avoid punishing gameplay more than exploiters? The concern is that the same hammer used to kill duping may also flatten legitimate piracy, salvage, recovery, and repair loops. Again, love the work you guys are doing to keep the economy fair. I lost almost all motivation to play when someone gifted me 1 billion aUEC... (which probably led to me not being chosen for the Odin club due to play time)... So PLEASE keep up the hard work. It is much appreciated!
