I am so far impressed with the Ironclad Assault. I do have 1 complaint. With the rearm, refuel, and repair mechanics going forward, the layout of the Assault Variant's cargo grid needs a bit of a rethink. The problem: The repair bays are at the back of the cargo grid and allow the players to conduct the Rearm, Repair, and Refuel operations. However, when you bring the supplies with you, along with the combat vehicles (just thinking ground right now to make this easier), you are presented with the problem of parking and moving vehicles around. If you have supplies loaded on the cargo grid, it can block the path to exit the ship if you are bringing multiple Nova Tanks (again the example). This means you have to park 2 tanks on the pads and 2 tanks on the grid and then hope you didn't bring too many supplies or anything else that needs to be snapped to the grid. The Solution: Looking at the image below, Snap Grid = red, Repair Bays = blue, and small vehicle parking = gold. If you make the small vehicle pads a cargo snap grid, the users can place their fuel, repair supplies, and munitions there, and it can feed into the repair bays. If it is segmented like the Idris (which I honestly haven't checked yet), then you can use one each for the different bays. Then, if someone wants to bring more supplies for an extended campaign, they can deal with the parking issue. But for now, they can have a quick repair and rearm supply stockpile loaded aboard the ship. Conclusion: I hope to see this change implemented in a future 4.8.X or 4.9 release, as I think this would make a good QOL update and make the Ironclad just a bit more useful in its intended role. Thank You. This is my TED Talk (tm)
