I came back after 1 year of absence, with new hardware (controllers) and have been fiddling the key bindings for days on end and I still can't for the life of me customize the key bindings to my liking. I think the UI needs a major overhaul to meet basic quality of life standards. Here's my suggestions: 1-Keep keys and axis assignments on same page, i.e. left column is the action description, middle column key binding, right column axis assignment & tuning (use DCS menus as inspiration), with a top filter for binding category (instead of a category tree at the left column making it take too much space). 2- Give us options for: 2.A-Keys for 20% increments/de-crements for throttle. 2.B- Relative axis commands for spring loaded axis and sliders (example: pedals and some rotaries on several throttles like Wingwing's ORION series or VKB STEKS). I think we had this in game back in the day and is now missing. Why? 3- Give us options for cockpit padlock views (keys and abs, rel. for analogue POV hats), right now, without trackIR I can't look around without losing ship control. At least there is no obvious way to do this. So in combat I have funnel vision FWD and that is deadly. 4-Some technical terms are not easily interpreted. Example: please use the term of "designate target" for targeting using ship's sensors, then use the term "lock missile on target" instead of "target focus" (for independent missile sensor sensor lock) You know, terms that every flight simmer is familiar with rather than trying to re-invent the wheel and alienate them. Older games used to nail this right almost every time making customization. SC is menus and technical terms are a labyrinth. I think 12 years of alpha and closing on beta we should have basic customization set in place and polished. Please CIG make it so.
