Just coming back for a 40vs40 2 hr ground combat session. It was incredibly fun! But the biggest problem we had was ground navigation, knowing where the different groups were. The same has applied for combined arms events, if ground troops needs air support, it is almost impossible to know where to hit. Finally, instead of all just being part of a squad, using platoon functionalities used in other games would be a massive improvement, with markers being different depending on if people are part of your platoon or your specific squad. Perhaps even a special marker for the squad leader. Here Planetside 2 or older Battlefield games can be a major inspiration. These would not just be minor improvements, but truly massive ones. Would make ground combat a lot more fun and engaging. When it comes to general gameplay loops of ground combat otherwise, I would say that it is already at a very good level. Of course, at the moment, we need to setup our own rules for the events without doing specific missions, but that is more than fine most of the time. The game we played btw was King of the hill, with two teams fighting to hold the top of a big mountain on Hurston. Spawns for the different teams was on H1 and H2. Only access to the mountain was through one transport ship per team. A lot of strategy, communications and teamwork was required. It was amazingly fun. If a map is hard to do, just a compass would be great. EDIT: While mostly a request, I suppose it would be good to formulate a question out of this: What are your thoughts on the systems described? Are there any current plans to implement something similar and how far along are they in that case?
