This has been bugging me, but I thought Star Citizen was a SIM. But this is so blatant Arcade game play, I have to call it what it is. This is so simple to demonstrate anyone can do it at anytime, and tell if me if you feel OK about Star Citizen having this "Feature" I did this in a prospector, of all ships. 1. Go into Nav, and go full speed: 994 m/s 2223.51 Mph 2. Power OFF your engines. So, by all we know, no force should be acting on the ship, right? 3. Go into SCM mode with your engines off, you are now doing approx: 250 m/s 559.23 Mph in about 3 seconds Does that not bother you? If it does not, you are OK with Star Citizen being an Arcade game. I asked the great google machine: Going from 2223 MPH to 559 Mph in 3 seconds, how many Gs is this? Answer is: 25g I also asked how many Gs the human body can do: Human body can only handle 4-5g Do you honestly think you can go from 2223 mph to 559 mph in about 3 seconds? Really? This must have an explanation. I know about the Avenger_One drama, I don't care about any of that. I am not asking for master modes to be removed, only renamed to Magic Modes, because with no thruster power, we pull this magic maneuver with no external force applied. Even Elite Dangerous has this one solved with Cruse Control and how that is described. (which is very much like Star Treks' warp drive.) That both fixes a game mechanic, travel mechanic, and instancing all in one with a believable description of the system that you never think to question it. You can not prove me wrong, because you can sit there and pull this magic maneuver off yourself. You can look at it with rose colored glasses, but you can't deny what is happening nor is there an in game explanation for how this is possible. This is NOT sim, which to be defined as a sim there should be some semblance to following the laws of physics. Maybe a few edges are trimmed to make it game playable, but this is no where near that, at all. I am worried about the precedent this sets, so if a problem is unsolvable, we just make stuff up and break what this game was supposed to be? A game where we are moving cargo boxes, eat, drink, repair, etc, but we can't have a fight system that is up to that standard. I am not saying how to fix this, but this magic maneuver is just plain wrong. Period. Lots of folks say MM doesn't 'feel' right, yea, I wonder why. We intuitively know this is not a healthy maneuver. Like, I should stop my car by crashing it into a brick wall as a normal driving method. yea, wouldn't 'feel' right. Everything else about master modes doesn't bother me, but this sudden break slam with no engines REALLY bugs me.
