Hi devs, astronomy is my field, my love and my passion and seeing a few things in the pyro playground (through the lens of some streamers) has really unreasonably perturbed my sensibilities. Pyro is labelled as a main-sequence "M Class" flare star in game yet isn't peaking in the red-wavelength, isn't a red dwarf/m-dwarf and is actually quite clearly yellow in colour. This is closer to a G-type or K-type star under the Morgan-Keenan system which classifies stars by their temperature and the peak wavelength (colour) of their emissions as per Wien's Displacement Law . The dominant colour of a blackbody varies with its temperature with hotter blackbodies trending towards bluer hues and dimmer blackbodies trending towards redder hues (much like a heated piece of metal behaves). M-type stars are dimmer and typically much less active than hotter stars and I, personally, don't think it would make sense for a star that's throwing material into space so frequently to be an M class star. Our star is a G class star, for comparison, and is nowhere near as active as Pyro (not that all stars are the same, they have differing rotations, differing differential-rotation speeds, metallicities, ages and sizes). Also, if it's a flare star, that would not be a star on the main sequence in my opinion... It would have left the main-sequence and currently be on the instability strip on the H-R diagram. On the topic of throwing material into space, can we please replace the silly "Mass Coronal Ejection" message with the proper term -> "Coronal Mass Ejection" (CME). It's such a small change and it would mean quite a lot to me or others who do care for scientific accuracy where possible and reasonable (without harming gameplay). "Mass Coronal Ejection" makes it sound like a mass ejection of the corona, as opposed to an ejection of coronal mass. I don't want to comment on the visual accuracy of the flares or their associated coronal mass ejections because "rule of cool" is often invoked for video games. I'm not sure if these are just typographical errors or what, I know it's not released yet, but it's really annoying me an unreasonable amount. So! I was wondering if these were just errors and/or if there is any possibility of these changes being implemented?
