Hello, I'm back to ask a quick question about Orison. So, as I understand, the floating platforms at Orison exist because in that situation they can exist in a naturally habitable microgravity environment. As per the lore this is why they have those expansive shipyards, because they can have a microgravity environment with naturally breathable atmosphere for all of their operations. That's also why they have the big periodic thrusters which only need to maintain the orbit that facilitates that environment. Honestly, the physics here are a little silly but as a sci-fi world building premise I kinda adore it, especially in how it suits the economic/manufacturing needs of Crusader. Now, that all being said, I do have one burning question about Orison that's been nagging at me since 3.14. Presumably, because its a microgravity environment the platforms all have artificial gravity. Which, yeah, artificial gravity is a pretty pervasive technology in the Star Citizen universe so that tracks too. However, in the game right now, the second you step off of the platforms you fall into the depths of the gaseous sea, accelerating at about 1G to your horrific demise. Similarly, if you're flying a ship around Orison and you turn off your engines the same horrific demise in the bowels of the gas giant awaits you. But! If the natural environment around Orison is mostly without gravity (microgravity), shouldn't we float as if on EVA the second we step off the platforms? And same goes for ships, they should be able to float around pretty leisurely without engines or landing gear deployed right? So yeah, that all being said, I was just curious if the current behavior of 1G gravity all around Orison was intended design? Or maybe is it a little oversight or even just a limitation of the engine that has not been a priority to address (both actually totally understandable explanations). I think Orison is super cool and would love to hear from a dev if they have any plans to let us jump around between platforms or if this is something that's on the development radar at all. Thanks for listening to me rant about Orison again
