This is a tough one to write.... While death can eventually happen...you're really making this too much like other games. I just have serious problems with this whole mechanic now. Let me get this straight, humanity has banned AI research for like a hundred years but this regeneration stuff is green-lit super quick? You guys never talk about children in this game which is just weird but what happens to civilian populations after a major battle/war with major civilian casualties? Do poor people use this tech or do they just get hurt and die? Have people in lore suspended their reanimation for 5, 10 , 100 years so they can be regened in the future??? Since the population isn't being depleted with battle losses of every type of conflict, are areas going to be quickly over-populated? EDIT: Wouldn't this mean, good guys and bad guy orgs keep growing in size because there are very few deaths? I can also see needing more and more prisons due to this explosion of bodies not dying. (Yeah....I keep thinking of more ways I hate this mechanic.) If this is Vanduul tech, then why aren't they continuously attacking us if they can just as easily keep adjusting tactics and re-attack? I mean, it's not like they still don't use it. While this tech was specifically modified to what it is now, their attacks have easily acquired this revised tech from the UEE. They're not supposed to be a stupid race when they can make King Ships. Why would soldiers who could have been ripped apart by the Vanduul agree to go back, just to potentially experience that again? Wouldn't PTSD be rampant??? If I opt out of putting my DNA on file, does that break the medical gameplay (does the system not know how to do surgery on my leg now???) Can I opt to commit Final suicide because my body is beyond what I want it to look like? Thank you. Edit: I wanted to comment on the Loremaker's Post. "This is why it was decided that Star Citizen needed to have a technology akin to “cloning,” where players could bring their avatars back from death itself but with a few key requirements the lore would have to address: Your avatar’s memories had to be passed on. No point in making a biological copy if they can’t remember anything. The process needed to degrade over time so that people in the universe are not immortal. How your avatar perished should be reflected in their new body. If you got blown up, we wanted to see those scars and cybernetic limbs. We also wanted characters to age and not just hop into a younger version of themselves. There should only be one copy of someone at a time. No clone armies running around." Response: Who said someone can't just wake up after surgery with the same repairs as this system would allow without all this STUFF? If I'm unconscious and I get flown to a hospital via a helicopter, I don't need a magic reason I got there, nor do I need proof. The bill alone would suffice. Like...are people bored there?!? If someone got hit by a size 9 torp as you state....then they die. Simple. THIS IS JUST SO OVERBOARD.
