Hey team, Just my 2c after listening to a space tomato podcast the other day, where they were discussing crafting, insurance and warranties. Basically the tier of insurance/warranty that allows a player to get his fancy gear back should not be an option, if you have a one off player crafted god tier level of gear on you and you get blown up, you should loose that bit of gear. Sure, compensate with cash if they have the insurance but the gear should be gone. My thoughts on this are, if you are trying to create a working economy (like that of Eve) then players NEED to loose thier fancy stuff to force them to go back and craft that gear again to keep the econamy alive. If the player can just pay for insurance (no matter how expensive or how long the timer) they will do it and propably have multiple ships lined up in case of loss. SC needs gear fear (like Tarkov) you need to be sweating when you take your best toys out to play, just like we need real penalties for player death/injury (limb loss, sight loss, clunky prosthetics, massive regen bills etc). The potential for SC is endless, but you have to make it hurt, players MUST have consequences for damage or dying in game. If a players ship gets blown up or dies in game and they arent devastated at the loss, then, you are doing it wrong. Fly safe Citizens. o7
