Hey, It seems that many players are currently dissatisfied with the PVP/PVE situation in our alpha. While I am a strong advocate for PVP, I also understand those who simply want to enjoy a few relaxing hours of exploration, farming, or racing without the risk of being harassed or ganked. This game has a diverse player base, with many pledging for specific reasons, and in my opinion, everyone should have the opportunity to experience the sandbox in their preferred way. Have you ever considered implementing a PVE-Flag system? Since dedicated PVE servers would likely be a significant undertaking for CIG, here’s my proposal: 1. Players could opt into a PVE-only mode in the Persistent Universe (PU) and receive a small flag symbol in their signature (e.g., labeled as "Friendly"). It’s open for discussion whether they should become completely invulnerable or whether attacking them should result in severe reputation penalties, triggering AI bounty hunters and player bounty hunters to pursue the aggressor for substantial rewards. 2. Players can remove the PVE flag at any time, but once they engage in combat, they must wait at least 60–120 minutes before being able to switch back to PVE mode. This ensures that revenge or retrieving lost loot remains an option. 3. Players cannot re-enable PVE mode while in combat. 4. Entering contested or designated PVP zones automatically disables the PVE flag to maintain the fun of visiting high-risk areas. 5. If a flagged PVE player initiates aggression against an unflagged player, their PVE flag is immediately revoked. Additionally, to prevent exploitation, PVP players should receive a 30-second immunity against attacks from a previously flagged PVE player. 6. Engaging in criminal activity removes the PVE-Flag and with a crime stat, one cant enable PVE at all. 7. People who use the PVE-Flag could be "punished" by earning ~5% less rep, money, rewards for missions, revenue in trading etc. I would love to hear your thoughts and feedback on this idea! o7
