Has it been discussed if the Fight Control Surfaces could be decoupled from the ships' power feed, perhaps by using a hydraulic or a mechanical system to manipulate ailerons, spoilers, etc.? Either in the event of an EMP, an engine or power loss, or for the purposes of a stealth approach, could the ship glide to the ground using the control surfaces alone, with the ship turned off?
