At the end of the day, any player onboard a ship that is otherwise undamaged and uncompromised with no open doors should feel zero threat from an unarmed person floating outside their ship. The only outcome from punching hard objects with unprotected limbs should be damaging oneself or compromising your suit integrity from repeated impact trauma. There's really not much more to be said -- this outlier feature is all at once non-sensical, cheesy, and feels like an antiquated gimick in the larger scheme of PVP in Star Citizen, especially when there's nothing logical to support the inclusion of such a feature. I'm guessing this mechanic had a more practical purpose back in the day for testing purposes or as a workaround for stuck doors when no other game mechanics existed. I mean, I could see some justification for the ability to punch open a door if you were wearing the ADP heavy armor arms with a visible exoskeleton, but I would then expect other related abilities to go with that concept (like more powerful melee attacks in general). Alternatively, we do have a melee rifle butt attack and a knife that could possibly replace door punching as the most basic brute force method to breach a ship door (although it should take a lot more than a few hits to do so) if you take into account pressurized atmosphere and other factors. But for current state Star Citizen, that doesn't have functional or feature-enabled working exosuits or powerarmor, that's soon going to have hacking, cutting, resource management, component damage, and much more nuanced, logical, and supported PVP gameplay via tool use, I don't really see any benefit or merit in keeping the seemingly magical ability to punch open a door with naked fists in the verse.
