“It’s an alpha” is the lamest excuse in SC. It’s been in alpha for almost a decade and will still be in the foreseeable future. Me and many many others didn’t “buy” a starter pack only to invest in the project. Our intent was to play it - and it’s playable if we excuse the persistent bugs. We are not testing the mining mechanics, we are mining to make aUEC, and because we enjoy mining in this game! At least I did, before they bugged the HUD, the scanner, the rocks, the laser power, the amount of quantainium in the rocks... Some of us only enjoy mining! Yesterday, I installed the 3.16 patch. Again, SC wouldn't start because of EAC fake detection. This time, I solved it by deleting the Epic Launcher. I won't even talk about that. In-game, a reset. Let's distribute all our stuff again. Almost all my stuff was there EXCEPT my dozens of mining modules AND my refinery orders. Looks like CIG hates miners. Fans that follow Spectrum knew the refineries were going to be wiped. Most of us didn't. CIG already has a better tool to push alerts. It's on the very Launcher. They opt not to use it for that purpose. Why? Or convince us that's needed. Another good question: why the reset of the refineries (and the bounty certificates)? Is it so incredibly hard to backup our orders and restore them after the fact? It's not. They just opt to neglect our in-game time and investment, like it is nothing. Well if it's nothing, why bother building those mechanics? CIG is testing our tolerance and persistence. Many of us are failing our self-esteem, myself included. CIG, if you have the least consideration for your backers, consider the time we're daily putting in this thing, especially mining and getting bounty certifications. Star Citizen isn't a simple dream project anymore. It's a game (it even has an anti-cheat) played by thousands of people that aren't confident of a foreseeable release. We know changes are being made continuously, but we don't expect that that much effort from our side be vaporized like that. Devs, can't you find a fairer way to patch Star Citizen, pretty please?
