Question to the devs: what internal reasons are there for not having separate PvA and PvE servers? Is the sole reason so PvP players can interact with PvE players? As because you might understand, PvE stands for versus Environment and that excludes versus other players (together with other players is fine). -How many Citizens do we got? More than a million, right? -How many people/ will be able to be handled by 1 server, let alone rendered on one spot? 500? 1000? 2000? -Since afaik SC isn't going for the 1 universe setup that EvE has gone for, there is no reason for all people to be in the same sort server style, right? -Even if through server linkage you can do this "1 universe setup", what positives are there compared to everyone being able to play the game the way they want? What can't you do on separate two PvE and PvP universes, that you can only do on one massive universe? -Even if you devide 1 million players through 2 (50/50 pvp/pve) you still got 500.000 players you have to divvy up across a whole server center and who never ever get together on the same place in the Verse at the same time. (aloready a technical impossibility if I am right) -Piracy/bounty hunter gameplay is not exclusive to PvP only, so non of the gameplay elements that are/have been/will be introduced into the game will left unused by either PvE or PvPers. -Because of the limitation of how many people can come together on one point/server, major events (either player driven or introduced by CIG) happening can be made canon in both PvE and PvP servers, just like in WoW where there are lots of individual servers where everything is canon across all servers, even individual events like a certain Leroy or red shirt guy. There is zero reason why CIG has to force PvE players and PvP players in the server. Nobody cares if it will even come so far as you having to sell two separate games: SC: PvE and SC: PvP. Just look at WoW. Built in 2004, still alive and kicking, still full PvP and PvE servers, still making lots of money, still popular. Why? They don't lob PvP players in with the PvE players. All players can make their choice of how they want to experience the adventure, everybody is happy, everyone keeps playing the game. "But PvE is obnly about playing the good guy"? Bioware (Mass Effect), dozens of Star Wars games, Lionheart studios (Black and White) and many other games would like to have a word with you. Lots of PvE games where you are the badguy or can choose to be the bad guy. PvE pirating? Sounds lots of fun! Still got AI truckers within that 90% AI you got lined up, right? And AI bounty hunters? Bring it!
