It makes no sense from a functionality and tactical standpoint that snub fighters have no access to view a cockpit or helmet HUD navigation map with waypoints just because they can't quantum boost. I can't think of a futuristic sci-fi or contemporary aviation reference that doesn't depicts small fighters being able to target and return back to thier carrier ships after their mission. This isn't WWII, all ships have HUDs in their cockpits or in your helmet. Just because the HUD navigational map system is currently based around the Quantum travel feature, doesn't mean the navigation aspect should be denied to ships without Quantum travel capability. When you hit "B", it should bring up all the normal waypoints (it just won’t spool the non-existent quantum drive). Speaking of navigation markers, there should be a specific waypoint color designated for your personal carrier ship as well as any and all large ships owned by group/party members in your snub fighter's vicinity (up to 1000-2000km away depending on the ship type) which you can land on or dock at. This will give all snub fighter pilots the ability to: 1) See a navigational map and have the ability to manually travel to nearby waypoints and outposts and allow pilots to store their ship (and swap to a different vehicle or ship with QT capacity) on an as-needed basis to refuel, re-arm, etc. like a normal small fighting platform. 2) The ability to track all friendly carrier ships in a 1000-2000km radius for the purposes of being able to tactically maneuver and retreat to safety like any support fighting vehicle should. I mean, ground vehicles have markers for your other ships, so should flying ships. Having no way to see waypoints all but guarantees you'll eventually loose or forget where your carrier ship is and essentially get lost in space or even on planets and moons because of your very limited fuel. It certainly can't be difficult to add back in the map visibility while keeping QT boost disabled for snub fighters. Having a map will certainly not unbalanced snubs at all in the broad scheme of the game, it will just un-nerf them from being mostly useless because this severe handicap. They are already balanced with limited fuel, no QT, and limited range. Now, one can reasonably argue that the Quantum drive is the very reason why ships have a quantum waypoint navigation map. That’s a fair point, but at least give Snubs a waypoint beacon system for any nearby friendly carrier ships 500-2000km away. These navigation beacons can be seperate from quantum beacons and their range can vary depending on the size of the carrier ship (the bigger the carrier, the further the beacon range). From a visual standpoint, carrier ships should at least have a beacon light as well that is visible from far distances so pilots can also visually spot them in case their electronics or HUD is damaged or disabled.
