Hello dear Devs. Especially the Devs from the Environment team. A note: nobody liked the new green and smoky Skybox. It's a poor way to solve a problem that ruins the realistic space environment of the game we all love. This game has been dubbed wallpaper simulator for a long time... You have killed wallpapers! We've heard the answer as to why this change was made and everyone has responded that the problem is not the skybox, we liked the realistic black space skybox, the problem is the interior lighting of the cabin and the excessive brightness of the UI. All backers are very angry and the problem was not you. The problem is with the UI TEAM, the ones working on the new MDFs and HUDs for 4.0. We can't see enemy ships and stations because the HUD and screens are way brighter than they should be. It's a long standing complaint and you know it, that screens should have a brightness dimmer or at least a day/night mode. Not have lights shining on the glass or in our eyes. Take away ambient light from the cockpits or allow them to be turned off. Watch this video. The problem is the glare of light in our eyes. It's not that space is dark. SPACE IS AND SHOULD BE DARK. We don't want a universe where every solar system has a distinctive color like a Ludo board or a space rainbow. The universe is mostly dark. That's fine for systems like Pyro or NYX that are in nebulas but most of it should be dark. Make the planets and moons stand out against the dark emptiness of space. Now they look ugly and strange against the green background. Save gas clouds for specific locations that give us a WOW moment, not a giant cloud of color all over the system! Listen to us: We all ask, hope, and want you to release a HOTFIX to give us back our previous Skybox. Thanks.
