Hello, Cloud Imperium Games team, I have been waiting for Squadron 42 since 2012. Throughout all these years, I have followed the project's development, eagerly awaited updates, and believed that one day I would finally be able to immerse myself in this story. That is why, when I saw the Squadron 42 Steam page and opened the list of supported languages, I felt more than just disappointment. It genuinely hurt. The list includes many languages, but Russian is missing. I find this difficult to understand and accept. I cannot fully express how long I have waited for this game or how much it means to me. Squadron 42 is not just another space shooter. It is an ambitious, story-driven experience that I want to immerse myself in completely: understanding the characters, feeling the emotional weight of events, following the dialogue, and experiencing the journey alongside the people in this universe. I want to experience all of this in my native language without missing important details because of a language barrier. I understand that localization takes time, resources, and considerable effort. I also understand that developers have difficult decisions to make. However, it is hard for me to accept that, after so many years of anticipation, Russian-speaking players appear to have been left out of your localization plans. Russian is not some obscure language with a small audience limited to a single country. It is spoken by millions of people around the world, including Russia, other post-Soviet countries, Europe, North America, and many other regions. Russian-speaking gamers live in countries all over the world, united by their love of gaming and their desire to fully immerse themselves in compelling stories in their native language. That is why it is particularly disappointing to see Russian missing from the localization list of such an ambitious project. This is not about demanding special treatment. It is about recognizing that the Russian-speaking community is substantial, exists across borders, and wants to be part of this story too. Among us are people who have followed your projects for years, supported them, and genuinely looked forward to Squadron 42. We want to understand every conversation, feel every scene, and experience this story as it was intended to be experienced. I am not writing this to insult your team or diminish the enormous amount of work you have put into the game. Quite the opposite: I am writing because this project means so much to me. If I did not care, I would simply close the page and move on. But after fourteen years of waiting, it is genuinely painful to see my native language missing from the announced list of supported languages. It leaves me feeling as though fans like me have simply been forgotten, despite all these years of anticipation and interest in the project. Please consider adding Russian localization, at least through a full text translation and subtitles. If this is not currently part of your plans, I would sincerely appreciate an honest explanation of the reasons behind this decision and whether there is any possibility of it changing before release. I sincerely hope that Russian-speaking players around the world will also have the opportunity to experience that moment in their native language.
