CIG, would you please stop marking everything in British.. Not everyone backing Star Citizen is British. Currently you are marking all floors, entrances, exits and more backward from international norms. There is a reason Green = Starboard/Right and Red = Port/Left. Entrances should be right of way, ie the right side not the left. Exits the same especially for emergency egress based on international norms. Ship strobes and markings should be green on the right/starboard and red on the left/port. Additionally many backers do no use metric. We use standard. We don't have the time to try and figure out a conversion while flying or running around in game.. Like every other game out there, this needs to be an option for backers not a forced arbitrary decision. If you run around in Star Citizen, no matter where you go, everything is marked in what ever Britain uses for its own system. And while that is just fine for the British, it is very confusing and problematic for anyone else that uses standard and/or international navigation normals. It would also be nice if not everyone in the game spoke in a British/Scottish type accent. It gets old hearing the same inflection and voice all the time for anyone you talk to (npc wise) in the game. There are many more countries, dialects and accents than just one. I am bringing this up now because the more and farther into the design aspects you are getting and the closer to release you come, some of this stuff you won't be able to change or fix if you do not do it now. And to those I have talked with, it does impact immersion in many aspects and ways.... and has an impact not just on the mundane but in combat as well because we end up with two different styles and no one able to figure out what the others are doing.. i.e. a perfect example.. a bit ago a group of us were doing some training for FPS combat. We had people going the wrong way because some went to the left to enter and the others went to the right... i.e. those from the UK we had went all left as the floor was marked... and the rest of us went to the right until we realized the signs and floor markings were backward from what we know as normal. We have run into this with ships too although I just figured that problem was due to ships not being completed and it would all be corrected ... but seeing all this other stuff, now I wonder on that as well. i.E. red running lights on the starboard/right side of ships or white lights when they should be green etc etc.. A few times I have approached ships thinking it was pointing one way only to finally realize it was not because the navigation markers were all wrong. While strobes make things look 'cool' and pretty too, the actual purpose is so you can 'see' them and the direction they are actually oriented especially in dark or night situations. Anyhow, that's my 3 cents worth of venting and opinion... (inflation of course brought the price up from 2 cents to 3 cents.. ) I hope you will look into this and possibly even respond to the post on the plans for this stuff.
