Hey Devs! First off, hope your day is going well, but to my question. So...at the $4.5 Million dollar stretch goal, it was stated that "Star Citizen will feature an additional playable ship class, the cruiser." It does go along and say the Idris class Corvette and Destroyers would be made below that. "A Cruiser (UEEN Ship Class Designation: CC)[1] is a military vessel designed for fleet combat, commerce raiding and supply interdiction duties. One several of what are termed Capital ships. Typically, a cruiser is larger than a Destroyer and smaller than a Battlecruiser or any Carrier." - Category:Cruisers - Star Citizen Wiki That definition is reasonable upon research outside the Star Citizen realm. Now, we all know the Idris Corvette later became a Frigate (class promised at the $13 Million stretch goal) and the Javelin became a Destroyer to fill that role. Now, presently on the drawing board that we're aware of for the UEE, we have the Polaris taking up a role as Corvette and the Perseus as a Gun Boat. Aside from the fact that other manufacturers can create ships to fill these same rolls in the future...what about the Cruiser role that was promised which should be between the Javelin and the Bengal Carrier? To press my point, you mention Cruisers in the Idris-M description found on RSI and even more recently, mention Cruisers within the Polaris Q&A. Now, lets just infer up to this point, that all the roles mentioned prior have been taken up by a ship to include the Cruiser if you downscaled the ship to be the Javelin. But by the $17 Million dollar stretch goal, you specifically state the Battlecruiser which brings up the whole issue again. While I still think you should have 2 more Capital Ship classes on paper greater than a Javelin, at the very least you should definitely have a Battlecruiser sized class ship up there on the drawing board. Can you confirm if these classes are still relevant for the near or even distant Star Citizen future and not just make-believe Lore? Thank you for your time. Respectfully, Adm.
