@JCrewe_CIG, Above all, thank you for all of the work that you do, and big shoutout to the new vehicle team at Turbulent for doing an amazing job with the Cutter Scout. A few things stood out to me, as I compared the 'Scout to the deeply loved (to the point that it makes the Ship Showdown) Anvil Terrapin. I have included the Technical Overviews for both ships here, for easy comparison. At first glance, one might think that someone is trying to pull a fast one and replace the Terrapin, as the stats are suspiciously very similar. Not being that guy, I know that a few key features separate the two ships beyond fuel tanks and onboard computing power: The Terrapin is heavily armored and the 'Scout is not. The Terrapin has two size 2 shields and the 'Scout has a single size 1 shield. The Terrapin has 0 SCU of cargo, and the 'Scout has 2 SCU. The Terrapin is priced at $220 (USD) and the 'Scout is $50 (USD), making the 'Scout the "poor man's Terrapin". The Terrapin has ZERO paints, and the 'Scout comes (at the time of this post) bundled with the Nightfall paint, which I Do Like Very Much Thank You. All I'm really asking is this: For a Sabre-sized price difference, will the Terrapin be workshopped enough to be worth the difference once all ship systems are in (armor, computers, etc)? Here's my list of hopes for the Terrapin, when scheduling and staffing allow: Make the S5 weapon hardpoint able to mount S5 weapons fixed, and an S5 gimbal for an S4 weapon, in addition to the current configuration of 2 x S2. Upgrade the single S quantum fuel tank to a single M tank, since the 'Scout currently has double the quantum fuel capacity of the Terrapin. Increase the hydrogen fuel capacity from 950 to 1960, since that's what the 'Scout has currently, and they both have two size S hydrogen fuel tanks. Rework the bed so that we can swap between bedsheets/pillow and the amazing brown and red cushion that was there beforehand. (Maybe like Corben Dallas's apartment bed in "The Fifth Element"?) The Meridian paint scheme, or maybe a Foundation Festival one next summer, assuming that the scanning gameplay loop has reached a passable better-than-T0 update? All the lovely bits that happen with a Gold Standard update. In closing, I know that patience is the currency that has the most value, and I will continue to stockpile as much as I possibly can. I just thought that I'd make this post to bring a few of my concerns to light, in case anyone else was thinking along similar lines.
