The Problem: "Exclusive" Items are being used as Money Suitcases Star Citizen’s economy is currently a "wild west" where aUEC has lost all meaning. It’s not just about "worthless junk" - players (exploiters and regulars alike) are using exclusive or rare items as "suitcases" to move money. Because there is no "Value Validation", a player with 50 Billion credits can "buy" a rare item for 5 Billion just because they want to move the wealth. This "imaginary pricing" makes legitimate progression feel pointless for everyone else. The Solution: My "Fair Value" Economic Shield I am proposing a three-pillar system to remove the ability to "gift" exploit money while finally rewarding players who spend hours finding, earning, and crafting elite components. 1. Kill the "Send" Button (The Death of Mo.Trader) I believe direct, un-validated money transfers must be removed entirely. The Rule: Credits should only move via Trade Kiosks or Service Beacons. The Friction: If I want to give someone money, I must be trading them an actual item or a service. No more "sending billions" for nothing. 2. Dynamic Price Corridors (The Appraisal System) To stop the transfer of billions through single items, I want the game to implement a Hard-Locked Trade UI. The Base Anchor: Every item gets an intrinsic value based on its NPC store price or base rarity. The Corridor: The Trade Kiosk will refuse any transaction where the price exceeds a +/- 25% range of the item's appraised value. The Result: Even if an item is "exclusive," the game shouldn't let a kid drop 5 Billion on it if the appraisal says it’s worth 5 Million. The "Accept" button stays greyed out. 3. My "Artisan Valuation" Formula (Rewarding the Grind) Alpha 4.7 introduced crafting, allowing me to finally manufacture items myself. While we are currently crafting FPS items, the system will expand. If I spend hours gathering materials and crafting a high-tier, custom-stat weapon or gear set, I deserve to sell it for a massive profit. My formula allows the Price Corridor to scale automatically based on Actual Performance: V_appraised = BasePrice Complexity (Quality Delta); Max_Price = V_appraised 1.25; If (Trade_Offer > Max_Price) Then Block_Trade; Example: My Custom "Masterwork" Sniper Rifle Base Anchor: 5,000 aUEC (Standard Shop Rifle). Complexity: 10.0 (Rewarding the time spent collecting materials and crafting at the Fabricator). Material Quality: 950/1000 (Using "Pristine" Alpha 4.7 refined materials). Performance Delta: 2.0 (Custom stats like improved range or recoil). Final Appraisal: 100,000 aUEC. The Result: The game recognizes my crafted item is extraordinary. The Trade Kiosk now allows me to legally sell this rifle for 125,000 aUEC, while still blocking someone from using a standard 5k rifle to move millions of unearned credits. 4. Service Beacons: Paying for Bodyguards To prevent "Private Hiring" from becoming a money-laundering backdoor: Rank-Capped Pay: A player’s "Mercenary" rank determines their max hourly rate. A Rookie cannot be "hired" for 100 million credits. Time-Locked Escrow: Money is held by the UEE Bank and only released after 15 minutes of proximity/activity. Expense Billing: Allow me to pay for a bodyguard’s Fuel/Repair directly at stations. Why CIG Must Do This NOW: Black Market Death: Sellers cannot "deliver" 100 Billion credits instantly. They would have to play for weeks with the buyer to justify the transfer through the Appraisal System. Meaningful Progression: When I see a player in an expensive ship, I want to know they either bought it with real money or earned it through high-tier crafting or missions, not because someone dumped billions of unearned aUEC into their account. Scalability: This formula works for everything from a "Custom P4-AR" to a "Legendary Quantum Drive." It’s time to stop the madness. Let’s make the UEC mean something again.
