I understand that the Aaron Halo will one day be unpassable and that one must use a gateway to pass through which I take will mean these are nav waypoints to qt to. As a miner I am currently enjoying using odd combinations of nav points to drop into less visited sections of the halo. My questions are how many of these gateways are planned and will there be additional navigation waypoints that can be used to visit other sections of the halo? Also, if one ship is already in the halo and is in a party of other mining ships can a ship qt to them? Is there a risk in the travel still? ----- EDIT ----- Thinking about this more, instead of a flat you cannot pass approach why not have narrow paths in the halo. Something a pathfinder ship could find and drop small beacons that could attract pirates for ambush or the UEEN to be removed or sell the pathways to other players to add artificial nav points (ship specific). I imagine the paths would not be a straight line. I recall CIG stated something about adding an object avoidance to the QD system. If the field density would come into play with a thinly populated asteroid field, then that system might have a smaller chance to pull you out of QT, but a more populated one would not only pull you out but would require the pilot to bank hard to avoid a crash. I moved this from General to Ask the Devs. Seems like the correct location for the post.
