Launching out of a sinking ship is the first step to one hell of a struggle. We've proven so far in Star Citizen, if you find yourself accidentally more then 30km from a location without a vehicle, survival is mostly non-existent. When you board those pods, one expects that to be pretty unscheduled. So I have some questions mostly on the pod that can be summarized as "How usable is your 'new home' from ejection to rescue"? I guess there's a question 0: Are pods more of an ejection seat with bells and whistles, or are they supposed to help you actually escape and survive? Is the plan to be able to... Store a flight suit/helmet in the pod that you can don before launch? Go far faster than potential pursuers away from the ship? Command the pod to, say, land on the nearest planet or head towards a station? Use the parts from an escape pod to survive? Such as dismantling it, or use the pod as a bed to sleep in? Have an "emergency box" in the pod you can hand/back carry, like emergency food, emergency water, medpen, oxypen, multitool w/ attachments, pistol? Other backers may find these questions excessive, or "I don't want survival mechanics in my space game", but once you leave the safety of civilization or your ship, a space game is inherently about survival. Landing on a planet, planting your rescue beacon, and fighting your Death of a Spaceman is a core aspect of the game. And I guess you could always just take off the helmet in the vacuum if you want to roll the dice. Also, as someone who wants to perform S&R, an incentive and chance of survival using only the things in your space coffin is important to me.
